MAC Powder Blush in Melba - Review

Recently I have been trying a variety of different blushes. I have really noticed how changing something as simple as blush can really change a look and make the skin look so healthy and fresh. Today I will be reviewing my first ever MAC blush which is in the shade Melba.

I must admit that when I was trying to choose my very first MAC Powder Blush I was so overwhelmed by choice! Take a look here for the massive range of powder blush that MAC offers at £18 each. I eventually made up my mind and chose the shade Melba as my blush collection is lacking in some coral shades.

Coral shades seem to be more and more popular as the year progresses. I decided I would try a blush with just a hint of coral tone. Much like the rest of MAC's products the packaging is amazing. It is sturdy and sleek in appearance.

The pan itself is pretty decent in size which I would hope for with the £18 price tag! The blush itself isn't too powdery meaning that you don't lose a lot of product from fallout from the pan... again another point to MAC for getting the formula spot on.

The pigmentation is truly amazing. This is simply one swatch on the back of my hand. As you can see Melba is the perfect coral toned blush, perfect for summer. I am much more used to wearing pink/ deep pink blushes so I was nervous about trying this blush! However it is truly beautiful. It gives a lovely healthy flush to the skin. It is also perfect for summer. I love wearing this blush when it is sunny outside as it really is the perfect finishing touch to that summer look!

Do you have a favourite MAC blush? Or do you have a favourite blush from another brand? Let me know your favourites in the comments!

    1. I was always afraid of coral shades because I was worried they would look less natural than the typical pink tones I wear. However you're right coral tones give such a natural flush to the cheeks!

  2. I do not have a favorite blush... i haven't had much luck with them (they usually break me out) I am thinking I should really get a MAC blush a try though, this one is really pretty! :)

    1. Oh that is such a shame! Maybe trying a mix of different brands or cream and powder blushes will help you determine a good blush that agrees with your skin!

  4. I have never actually tried MAC blushes, however this looks like a great texture! I usually use Clinique blushes in a rose tone (the number has rubbed off the bottom, ha!)

    1. The texture is so smooth - it just glides on to the cheeks! I haven't tried much from Clinique but thank you for the recommendation!
