MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Serene - Review

Once again I am delving in to my drafts folder in order to get my blogging game together! This photo is so old I can safely say that wallpaper isn't even up in my old room at my mum and dad's any more! Gosh how does time fly? Anyway I am getting distracted... today I am looking at the MUA Luxe Velvet Lacquer in the shade Serene.

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Serene

One thing that I have to respect the likes of Makeup Academy and Makeup Revolution for is their packaging. For such budget and affordable brands they really do knock it out of the ball park don't they? The actual lip lacquer itself is in a frosted plastic case which seems very high end. The applicator itself is a doe foot applicator.

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Serene

Now on to the actual lip lacquer itself. I have to say Serene didn't turn out to be my favourite shade. I wanted a light pink and boy did I get it! It is such an incredibly light baby doll pink colour. It just doesn't work on my lips... however... I did try it as a liquid blush and I have to say it really works well as that! So I am getting some use out of it! The actual formula of the product was fantastic and the longevity is amazing. It's just a shame this shade didn't work out for me! You can check out this lip lacquer here which retails for an amazing £3.00. I must admit I am really intrigued to try some other shades from the range.

TRESemmé Colour Revitalise: Colour Vibrance Protection Shampoo and Conditioner - Review

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well. Today I am writing a review of a new shampoo and conditioner... shocking for me as I haven't changed my shampoo and conditioner brand since I was around 16?! My my... but since moving out I've been looking at the best way to stretch my money out as far as possible. I've been eyeing up these TRESemmé bottles for a while because the amount you get totally seems to be worth the affordable price... but how is the quality?

TRESemmé Colour Revitalise: Colour Vibrance Protection Shampoo and Conditioner

The shampoo is my absolute favourite! It lathers up beautifully with such a little amount which, because of that, I can see it lasting even longer. The lather really gets my hair super duper clean, even after day two or three hair! I've been using the Shampoo since the beginning of December and yes it's still going strong! Barely half of it is gone. I can definitely say I have saved money using it.

How about the conditioner? Well once again a little goes a long way! You only need the slightest amount and it will make your hair feel lovely and silky soft. Sometimes I like to leave the conditioner on a tad longer for a deep hair masque effect. Another way to save those pennies!

As far as my dyed hair overall? Well I can say the change of both shampoo and conditioner seems to have given it a new lease of life. It has been given a bit more volume and looks that bit healthier! You can take a look at the Shampoo here and the conditioner here. You can also find these on offer a lot in the likes of Tesco and Asda for around £2 if you keep your eyes open! So keep your eyes peeled if you're interested!

Have you tried any of the TRESemmé range? What is your favourite Shampoo and Conditioner combination currently? Let me know in the comments!

Lovelocks - A Fantastic Anniversary Present!

I'm going to travel back in time a little bit to my anniversary on the 9th and share with you all a fantastic idea and a fantastic company... Lovelocks.

Lovelocks

Last year, leading up to mine and Gaz's anniversary, we had heard a few people talk about the fantastic idea of Lovelocks. We had heard a few people discuss this and the different areas you can lock your padlock. I had seen a few on the Albert Dock in Liverpool and this is where we went for our anniversary dinner so I thought it would be perfect!

The lock itself came in the above packaging which is fantastic as you can keep this and write the details of the date and location of your lock. I've kept this and tucked it away in my memory box! A fantastic keep sake! I've linked the exact padlock we chose here which will also take you to the Lovelocks website. The lock itself was £21.95 which I thought was fantastic.

Lovelocks - Second Anniversary

The lock itself is gorgeous. Despite taking the above photo on my camera you can really see the shine of the lock in photo and the beautiful engraving. Needless to say I was very exited to lock our padlock! One thing I must say is that the delivery was very quick considering this is personalized! We ordered this just over a week before our anniversary dinner so I was worried it wouldn't arrive and we would have to travel down in the future however it arrived in around 4 days!

As you can tell we got the below engraved:

Claire & Gareth
Forever & Always
09.12.12

We decided to get the date we became a couple engraved as well as our saying 'forever and always' which is what we always follow up with after saying I love you!

Lovelocks - Albert Dock

And here is our lock! As you can tell we locked our padlock in the evening, just before our meal, so forgive the darkness of the photo. The whole thing was a lovely idea and a lovely event that we can cherish and look back on. I also took plenty of photos so I have a lovely memoir to keep. I suggest those of you like me that are very sentimental do the same!

Do you have any anniversary ideas? What do you think of Lovelocks? Let me know in the comments!

*Makeup Revolution - Pro Looks: Stripped & Bare Palette and E103 Pro Blending Brush - Review*

Makeup Revolution - Pro Looks: Stripped & Bare Palette and E103 Pro Blending Brush

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well! Are we exited for Valentines day this week? Let me know in the comments below!

Today I am bringing you two Makeup Revolution products! The *Pro Looks Stripped & Bare Palette* and the *E103 Pro Blending Brush*. The palette retails for an amazingly affordable £6 and the blending brush, get ready for this, is £1.95! £1.95! Can you believe it? Finally brushes that don't break the bank! Anyway let's get on to the review!

Stripped & Bare Palette

Pro Looks: Stripped & Bare Palette

First lets take a look at the Stripped & Bare palette. The palette itself comes in a lovely rose gold cardboard box. Who else is loving the rose gold trend? Such a gorgeous colour! The palette itself is in a  sturdy plastic casing which is pretty much the casing for a few other Makeup Revolution palettes such as their concealer palettes which I've reviewed here!

Pro Looks: Stripped & Bare Palette

Here is the palette itself. How gorgeous are the shades? I love this palette as it has a fantastic range of neutrals and deeper tones - perfect for day to night look! The idea behind the palette is that the colours are grouped together for different looks however, of course, you can mix and match! There is also a great variety of mattes and shimmers available. The shadows themselves are particularly soft and so easy to blend! Makeup Revolution have also been very generous with their mirror! Thumbs up!

If you pick up this palette yourself you will see that it comes with a plastic cover sheet which has all the individual names of each shadow. Below I have swatched all the eye-shadows with no base or primer... to see how they really perform!

Pro Looks: Stripped & Bare Palette

Layers and Big Tip are gorgeous highlighter shades to me. I love using Dignity, a slightly reddish brown, as a blending colour for a smokey eye. Whipped and Chain are lovely golden shimmers which are perfect for a night out! Or an inner corner highlight!

Pro Looks: Stripped & Bare Palette

Next we have a set of slightly darker shades. Again, strip me is a perfect neutral highlight colour to team with the collection of shades. Let Loose is a subtle golden brown shimmer which works perfectly alongside Get Loose and Naked Nights. Then we have, personally, my favourite colour Super Cool which is a shimmery black. It just looks so gorgeous!

Pro Looks: Stripped & Bare Palette

Next we have Dollar Bill which is a great matte highlight shade for those of you that are scared of shimmer highlights! Desired is a deep matte brown shade whereas Stripped All Day is more of a sandy matte brown. H.O.T is a lovely matte grey and Bare 2 is a slightly deeper matte grey. Revolution have done a fantastic job with these matte shades! It really is hard to pull off mattes however they have done a stunning job here!

I love these shades! For me they are very wearable for both day and night. The pigmentation is fantastic even without a base! They are so soft and creamy they go on beautifully to the eye. So far I've had no issues with creasing! This lovely little palette has slid its way in to my everyday make-up bag. Definitely a must have for me.

E103 Pro Blending Brush

E103 Pro Blending Brush

Now we move on to the Pro Blending Brush which Makeup Revolution kindly sent me with the above palette. Again I am in love with the rose gold packaging and detail. I'm also in love with the £1.95 price tag... unbelievable!

E103 Pro Blending Brush

The brush itself has a study plastic handle. The brush itself is unbelievably soft and the hairs are so dense. Perfect for blending! I'll be the first person to say I am terrible at blending however this little beauty did the work for me! I'm totally going to invest in a few more of these so I have a few blending brushes in my collection!

So there we have it! My double review of two fantastic Makeup Revolution products! Have you tried the Makeup Revolution Stripped & Bare palette or any of their brushes? What is your favourite Makeup Revolution product? Let me know in the comments!

OOTN - Outfit of the Night - 31.01.15

Hello everyone! Today is the third outfit post I have wanted to share that sings the praises of affordable fashion. Last weekend I was invited to a family members 21st. I myself love a good excuse to dress up however nowadays I love opting for a more conservative and older look... which is what led me to this OOTN!

OOTN - Outfit of the Night - 31.01.15

Dress - George at Asda
Leggings - Warehouse
Heeled Boots - New Look

I just love this dress. It was £16... 16! I couldn't believe it. The material is lovely. It's very smooth and thick, not to mention durable which is perfect for me! I seem to tear a hole in everything! I got a lot of compliments on this dress and I'm very glad I spotted it. I also love the way it covers the top part of my arms! I must say I have paid a lot more for dresses in the past that aren't half as nice!

Yankee Candle - Simply Home - Morning Blossom & Soft Cotton Set

Hello everyone! I hope you are all well and exited for the beginning of a brand new month! February already? Where has the time gone? Today I am bringing you yet another candle review! Can you tell I'm obsessed? The other half picked me up this lovely little set from Asda for £17. The set contains two jars from the Simple Home collection, Morning Blossom and Soft Cotton. You can check this gift set out here.

Morning Blossom

Morning Blossom is the first true floral scented candle I've tried. I wasn't too sure if I would like it at first however I have to say I love it! It smells exactly like fresh flowers and has a long lasting and subtle scent.

Soft Cotton

Next we have Soft Cotton. I have to say this is the freshest smelling scent ever. As it is burning it is like walking in to a room full of freshly washed clothes. I love it! For those of you that love clean and fresh scents this is a must have! I love burning these two candles together. The scents work so perfectly together and the house smells so fresh!
