Soap & Glory - Body Spray Collection - Mini Reviews

Soap & Glory - Body Spray Collection - Mini Reviews

Raise your hand if you're a Soap & Glory fanatic... *raises hand*. Soap & Glory seem to be able to do no wrong in terms of gorgeous smelling products. I see all their products as an affordable treat as they  have some bits in their line you wouldn't always pick up for yourself but end up picking up in Boots! I love having a variety of body sprays, mists and perfumes to choose from each day so when Soap & Glory announced their new body mists that they were adding to their collection I just had to get them!

Original Pink
Original Pink

For those of you that love the traditional Soap & Glory scent or are a fan of their perfume, which I still want to pick up and try, then you'll love this body spray alternative. Original pink is a very neutral, clean smelling body spray which is great for those days you just want to smell fresh and sweet!

Orangeasm
Orangeasm

Probably one of my most favourite scents that they have added to the body spray collection. I must admit that the Orangeasm line from Soap & Glory did tempt me but I found the scent a little overpowering for the Winter when I came to check it out. Maybe I will take a look again this summer? Anyway this body spray has that delicious orange scent without being too overpowering. It has a gorgeous, long lasting citrus scent.

Mist you Madly

I've linked my full review of Mist You Madly so that you can all check out my full thoughts on this body spray. Mist You Madly is one of the original scents that has had a little revamp. I would totally recommend picking up Mist You Madly if you are, again, a an of the traditional Soap & Glory scent.

Sugar Crush
Sugar Crush

THIS SCENT! Oh gosh this scent! It's my favourite. I can see this being the first to run out as I wear it everyday to work. I spray all these body sprays on my clothes so the scents linger all day and I can't tell you how many compliments I get on this scent! If you're a fan of the Sugar Crush line or love your citrus scents you MUST pick this up!

Fruitigo
Fruitigo

Again another citrus scent but with a grapefuit twist. Despite having a citrus scent has a deeper, muskier scent to it than those in the collection. I love using this body spray just before an evening out!

So there you have it, my thoughts on the new introductions to the Soap & Glory body spray collection. Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts? Which would you like to try the most? Let me know in the comments below!

Bargain Finds - Swizzels Refreshers Candle - Review

Swizzels Refreshers Candle

As I have said more times than I care to imagine on this blog - I have an addiction to candles. I also have an addiction to finding bargains so I thought I would share this one that I spotted in my local Poundland!

Anyone that loves Refreshers sweets will instantly love this candle. It is the sweet in a jar! If you love sweet smells then this is a must! The good thing about this candle is that although the scent disperses well it is not obnoxious or over the top. It doesn't smell like you've walked in to a sweet shop! It is lovely and subtle and leaves that lovely, memorable scent of Refreshers sweets. For those wondering the jar has a size of 85g. Personally I keep this little candle near all my little sweet jars! Yay to Poundland finds!

So there you have it. A pretty short review but for such a unique and affordable candle it speaks for itself! Do you love Refreshers? What is your favourite sweet or Poundland find? Let me know in the comments below!

Product Empties #17

Product Empties #17

We're back round to this time again. The time where the empties bag hanging from my full length mirror is getting far too full and I have to empty it! I have a lot to get through this month so lets get started!

Hair

Batiste XXL Dry Shampoo

Long time followers/readers of my blog will know that I am a massive fan of Batiste dry shampoo. Batiste XXL dry shampoo is my absolute favourite as it adds so much volume. I sometimes sleep with it in my hair to add extra volume for second or third day hair! I also have Batiste original which I had laying around from moving (almost 10 months ago, oh my) so I finished up the last few bits of that!

Soap & Glory - Glad Hair Day Conditioner

If you checked out my review of both the shampoo and conditioner from the Glad Hair Day range from Soap & Glory you will know I am not the biggest of fan of the conditioner. It really did nothing for my hair at all. I used this conditioner up as quick as I can and used it when my hair really didn't need a conditioner. I won't be repurchasing this!

Scents

Diesel Loverdose, Soft & Gentle Deodorant, Right Guard Deodrant & Soap and Glory Glam-a-Lot Body Spray

Diesel Loverdose, Soft & Gentle Deodorant, Right Guard Deodrant & Soap and Glory Glam-a-Lot Body Spray

Loverdose is my day to day perfume and has been for some time now. I absolutely love it. I also use Loverdose Tattoo which often includes a little sample of the original in it! So I pop these little samples in my handbag and get a lot of use out of them!

Soft & Gentle is again my day to day choice of  deodorant as it gets the job done and isn't powdery like some women's deodorant can be.

Gaz also put in his own little empty, Right Guard deodorant, which he said was nice but not very long lasting.

Soap & Glory Glam-a-Lot was my favourite body spray until they brought out more in the range. It is still a solid favourite that I absolutely love and totally recommend!

Bath & Shower

Cath Kidston Shower Gel & Africa Lynx Shower Gel
Cath Kidston Shower Gel & Africa Lynx Shower Gel

I managed to finish this little shower gel from Cath kidston. The packaging is so adorable! The product had a mature scent, very musky. I didn't reach for it day to day as I do prefer sweeter scents however I would repurchase it as I did enjoy it.

Again Gaz contributed another little empty here. Lynx Africa which again he enjoyed the scent of. Practically speaking you can pick these shower gels up for a pound from Poundland which is fantastic for a name brand shower gel of this size.

Skincare

Skincare

Since there a few skincare items here I will bullet point all the goodies we have here!

  • Pure Facial Wipes - Pure is a brand from a lot of pound shops which tends to be where I go to pick up my face wipes. I love using these for taking off my make-up and for wiping my face in the morning to freshen up.
  • Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips - Something I still need to get round to reviewing fully! These were lovely to use but to be honest there are cheaper alternatives which work just as well.
  • L'oreal Paris Revitalift Laser Renew Anti-Ageing Super Serum - I absolutely loved this serum. Check out my review for my full thoughts but I intend to repurchase this once all of my other serums have been used up!
  • Vichy Liftactiv Supreme Serum - A serum I have recently reviewed and loved, The only thing holding me back repurchasing is the cost!
  • Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Scrub - I love this scrub. It has a lovely refreshing feel to it and really brings the skin to life. I would fully recommend this scrub!
Make-up

Maybelline The Rocket Mascara

Gosh the review I linked is an old one! Extra points if you have been with me for that long! Gosh my photography has improved from my Iphone4! Anyway! I love this mascara - it adds tons of volume and is pretty darn affordable. I already have another tube of this amongst my extensive collection of mascaras!

Other

Colgate Plax
Colgate Plax

A random empty here. Colgate Plax mouthwash. A good old staple product which you can't go wrong with!

Bits and bobs!

Again there are a good few products here so I will list off the different ones!

  • Allura Cotton Pads - Poundland cotton pads which come with two 75 packs. These are good and cheap!
  • Wilkinsons Bath Bombs - Again another product I really need to review as I love them! I have three different scents here. Shamefully I have tried every scent in the range and I absolutely love them!
  • Yankee Candle Samplers - I wrote a post on the variety of samplers I have tried which I have linked so check it out!

FEW! We are done! There were a lot this time round! Do you write product empties posts? What type of things do you run out of on a regular basis? Let me know in the comments below!

*Vichy Liftactiv Supreme Serum - Review*

I love trying out samples of products before committing to buying them. More brands need to do this as, frankly, I hate the idea of wasting hard earned money on something I wanted but then turns out to be rubbish. Most recently I was informed of a supreme trial pack that was offered by Vichy to try out one of their serums. All I had to do was answer a few questions about my skin and there you have it!

Vichy Liftactiv Supreme Serum

The sample was pretty generous. It came nicely packed with 7 sachets of product. The sachets were a really decent size with a lot of product in so I was actually able to get two/three days use out of each one!

Vichy Liftactiv Supreme Serum

But how did the serum perform? Well it left my skin feeling wonderfully moisturised and refreshed. Since a lot of serums are very intense they can often aggravate my sensitive skin, especially since I like to apply my serums early in the morning. This serum however worked well with my sensitive skin. Over the few weeks I've been trying them I have noticed that my skin has looked very fresh and areas I suffer from dry skin with seemed to have calmed down a lot.

However one thing that stops me screaming 'Vichy take my money and let me have this serum!' is the price. For £30 you get 30ml of product which in the grand scheme isn't a lot and compared to other serums I have tried with more product and a lower price tag I can't justify the cost! I know some may argue that skincare is worth the investment... but not when I've tried serums from No7 and Soap & Glory that cost less and work just as well!

Have you tried the Vichy Supreme Serum? What serum do you currently use? Let me know in the comments below!

Yankee Candle Samplers - Mini Reviews

Hello. My name is Claire and I am a candle-a-holic... there I confessed! Anyone that has ever been to my house or follows my Instagram knows that I am obsessed with candles. Gaz, my better half, funds this obsession by occasionally buying me the smaller sampler candles for my little holder to try. As of late I have built a bit of a collection so I thought I would start doing little mini reviews on all the ones I try! Let me know what you guys think of this type of blog post!

Yankee Candle Samplers - Mini Reviews

I desperately want this candle in the full sized jar. It smells gorgeous. Like dark chocolate! If you're not in to overly foody/sweet scents you may not like this one however I love how true to scent it is. I myself can only smell a hint of the cappuccino scent which I like. If it was any stronger I don't think I would like it!

A lovely blend of sweet and spicey. A very homely, rich candle scent here from Yankee. One you can't really go wrong with if you're looking for a candle to gift to someone else. Yankee describe this as a candle that is good for if you like layering scents which I agree with. It has been a great, deep scent, to burn alongside my sweeter and larger candles.

A gorgeous tropical scented candle. Has a fruity punch to it as you burn it. The colour of the candle is absolutely gorgeous too for those that, like me (I'm sad I know), match their candles with their home.

Not my favourite I must admit, but still a nice candle. Definitely one for the food/cookery lovers out there. Reminds me of walking in to a bakery. Like I said it is not my favourite but it definitely, like all Yankee Candles, true to its name sakes scent.

Apple Spice Potpourri

This is a sampler from the Simply Home range from Yankee Candle which you can find, usually, at Asda. Sadly I could't find a link like the others. This is similar to Tarte Tatin in that it is a very homely scent but a lot deeper with a strong spicy scent. This candle currently lives in my bathroom in my little glass holder and I always get complements on the scent of it, even when it is not burning!

Christmas Treats

Again another candle from the Simply Home range. I still have half of the larger size of this waiting to be burnt for this Christmas. Am I the only one that associates certain candle scents to Christmas? This candle just smells like Christmas candles to me and is so lovely and sweet.

Again, the name describes the scent to a tee here. Another sweet, make your mouth drool scent. I love burning this whilst I'm cooking or in the small hints of summer/spring we are getting! Another one to try for all you food loving, sweet scent fans out there!

A fresh scented candle which is pretty neutral. Very clean it its smell. I would consider buying the large jar of this for my guest bedroom to keep it smelling clean and fresh. Again another great candle to gift to someone else!

OOTN/MOTN - Monochrome Madness - 09.05.15

Hello everyone! I haven't posted an OOTD/N in a while as, honestly, I've been wearing the same stuff day to day that I have already featured. However this weekend I had a much needed night out and dressed up in a few new things that I had bought that very day! So lets take a look at the bits and bobs I wore!

OOTN/MOTN - Monochrome Madness - 09.05.15

Cardigan: George at Asda
Dress: Primark
Satchel Bag: River Island
Leggings: Warehouse
Boots: New Look

As you can see the outfit was very monochrome in its theme! I fell in love with this dress when I saw it in Primark. It is unbelievably comfy too which is a bonus! The detail on the dress is really eye catching in my opinion.

I am in LOVE with this satchel which, is in fact, an early birthday present from Gaz. He has apparently also gotten me the same bag in another colour...*woooo!*. It is absolutely gorgeous and such high quality. It can also be worn as a backpack... how cool is that? I think I am in love with a handbag guys!

OOTN/MOTN - Monochrome Madness - 09.05.15

I actually remembered to take a quick snap of my makeup for the night! I wore my usual MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC15 that I usually wear on a night out as it is long lasting on my skin and lasts the duration of the night. What I was most impressed with was the brown smoky eye I created with Poundland eyeshadows! Be sure to keep an eye on the blog for a review on those!

*Simple - Kind to Skin Moisturising Facial Wash - Review*

Every time I look at my collection of beauty products and what I am currently using and loving I am often reminded of products I have yet to review. Recently I have fallen back in love with Simple. My skin has been very sensitive lately so I have gone back to basics! For those wondering I was sent this products, amongst other Simple goodies, to try during the Simple Kind to City Skin giveaway that i ran a while back!

Simple - Kind to Skin Moisturising Facial Wash

Firstly, you will be amazed to know this photo was taken well over 9 months ago before I moved in my old bedroom! That wallpaper no longer exists in my old room! Anyway I digress... This facial wash is the perfect blend of both worlds in my opinion. It not only keeps the skin feeling and looking clean it doesn't strip away any moisture from the skin which some cleansers do. In fact it helps to moisturise the skin! This facial wash actually won Company Magazine's cleanser of the year award in 2011.

Simple are perfect at delivering back to basics products in my opinion for when you have any sort of skin flare up. For me it helps 'reset' the skin! Simple are also a great brand for those of you just starting your skincare journey! This product is inexpensive at £3.49 which you can checkout at Boots here.

Have you tried much from Simple or their Moisturising Facial Wash? What were your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below!

Lush - Snow Fairy Limited Edition Shower Gel - Review

I thought for a long time if it was worth posting this review. Pretty much everyone and their wives have tried Snow Fairy from Lush. However since this 'limited edition' shower gel is usually released/available every Christmas I thought it may be informative for those that haven't yet tried it!

Lush - Snow Fairy Limited Edition Shower Gel

My other half picked me up the large size of 500g however you can pick this product up in a variety of sizes and it is usually in a lot of gift sets around the seasonal period. You can usually get the bottle in 100g, 250g or the 500g you see pictured. I would consider stocking up on the big bottle if you're in love with the scent so that it lasts you all year round!

The scent is very sweet. Lush describe it as a 'candy scent'. The closest scent I could compare it to would be candy floss! It is sweet but subtle and leaves a lovely lingering scent to the skin when you use it. Snow Fairy can also be used as a bubble bath in my experience. Usually I tend to reserve it as a shower gel as you can only pick it up once a year and I want it to last however now that I have the bigger size I can indulge and use it more often. 5 months in to 2015 I have barely dented the bottle!

The lather to this shower gel is fantastic which is exactly why it makes a perfect bubble bath for me too! With or without a loofa Snow Fairy builds up a beautifully luxurious lather. The gel itself contains little particles of glitter which makes it look very cute however if you're not a big fan of glitter, like myself, don't worry. It doesn't stick to the skin at all.

All I can really say is that Snow Fairy is a Lush favourite for a reason. It is a fantastic, sweet little product and is a must to try for bath and shower product fanatics. It is also a nice little gift for any younger people you may need to buy gifts for around the festive period.

Have you tried the Lush Snow Fairy Limited Edition shower gel? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below!

George at Asda- Red Berry Reed Diffuser - Review

If any of you lovely readers were to visit my home you would probably wonder  why my house is filled with so many smellies and candles. Well the truth is I'm addicted. I have a problem! George at Asda offer such a great range of affordable diffuser which help feed my addiction.

George at Asda- Red Berry Reed Diffuser

I love having diffusers on my windowsills right next to curtains as the scent tends to linger the best there, This red berry diffuser is currently living on my living room windowsill. Firstly, it is very affordable at £3. It certainly won't break the bank. Secondly the scent itself is absolutely beautiful. Very sweet but deep in its scent; I actually have this near some fake flowers, if you didn't know any better you might even think it was the flowers!

The actual diffuser is very plain. I like this because no matter how many times I have swapped and changed my living room decor it has matched everything. It's been in my house since February and it is still going! It has about 1/4 left! Well done George, once again you have done very well! You can check out the George at Asda Red Berry diffuser here.

Do you have any home scents or diffusers you would recommend? Let me know in the comments!
