Budget Beauty - George at Asda Dotty polish - limited edition

Hello everyone! Hope you are all well! If you have been following my blog recently you will see I have had a few budget steals as far as nail polish is concerned featured on the blog. Well here I am with another one! George at Asda Limited edition Dotty polish.

If you have ever searched the George at Asda beauty own brand products online you will know that a lot are seen as flop products rather than anything special with a lot of people saying you get what you pay for. So I thought I would check out their nail polishes as this one caught my eye as I was walking down their make-up isle and dismiss their make-up range.

I am all for a product that makes it look like you spent hours on a nail look when it only took seconds so I had high hopes for this product and it did not let me down.

First lets discuss cost. This polish comes in at £3 which to be honest is not too bad for a nail polish but I was still shocked at it being that price considering it is an own brand product. The polish itself is clear polish with black and white dots in. As you can see from the above nail look the effect it gives on the nail is really pretty and on a grey background it even resembles a marbled texture.

On darker polishes the look is more subtle but is still there. I put a top coat of the dotty polish on my nails when I had had nail polish on for a few days and it was beginning to look dull and as you can see from above it definitely liveness it up!

Now on to my only bug bare with this product... Much like glitter polish it is so stubborn to remove. You really need time to remove this polish, its not a polish you can just remove quickly in a minute before darting out the door - it requires elbow grease. Other than that I really love this polish and for a random buy in Asda I can say I am quiet happy with it!

So have you tried any of Asda's polishes or the George at Asda nail polish range? What were your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!

Product Empties #10

Its that time again - product empties time! I seem to be getting better at finishing up the products I have before I buy any new products in! Can't argue with that!

Batiste - The original & Batiste XXL Volume

I can't recommend Batiste enough. If you're interested I reviewed the Batiste dry shampoo here and I included the Batiste XXL volume in my Should be Hyped Saturday series here. Batiste is great not only as a dry shampoo but also as a styling product. It is great for adding a bit of volume to your hair or to make volume last from the day to the night. I recommend getting in Batiste in as an essential for everyone.

Soft & Gentle Anti White Marks and Kind to Skin deodorant

Am I the only person that buys in deodorant all the time then ends up with loads of half empty bottles I need to finish? Soft & Gentle is always a deodorant brand that for me you can't go wrong with. They never irritate my skin which is sometimes hard to find after you have shaved your under arms and if you have eczema and they never leave white marks!

Nivea Double Effect deodorant

On the flip side I just can't seem to agree with Nivea deodorants. They always seem to go foamy when I spray them and the smell to me just isn't a pleasant one. I think its best to stay clear of Nivea deodorants...

The Co-operative Nail Varnish Remover

Here is another product I've reviewed, check that out here, and absolutely loved. It is such a steal for one pound and when I use it it doesn't leave my nails or skin feeling dry which is great considering it contains acetone. It is also cruelty free and contains no animal ingredients! An all round fantastic product.

L'oreal Elvive Colour Protect Serum

I don't think you can buy this in stores any more as I can never seem to find it! But I finished off my last bottle of colour protect serum from L'oreal. I did notice this makes that freshly coloured shine you get on the hair last a little longer so if you're after that affect try this out! I would suggest trying out the colour protect shampoo and conditioner from L'oreal as that it was I use and as someone who dyes their hair black my colour never fades! The colour protect range from L'oreal is really good in my opinion!

Makeup Academy Pro-Base Fixing Mist

The pro-base fixing mist from MUA was one of my very first reviews which if you're interested you can check it out here. I must admit at the beginning of getting this I didn't really rave about it however now I love it. It really is a good fixing mist either to spray on the face or to mix in with liquid make-up and is only £5 so great for those of us that are on a budget. For a small bottle it has lasted a while too! You definitely get bang for your buck with this product.

Large Cotton Pads

I think everyone goes through tons of these a month. These particular ones are the oval pads which I always cut in half so I get double the amount which saves you a bit of money and makes them last that little bit longer.

So that is it for this product empties post! Have you tried any of these products? What were your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!

Budget Beauty - W7 Nail polish for £1 - Metallic Mars

If you read my last budget beauty nail polish post you will know I recently found a bargain at Poundworld. On that trip I also found this nail polish which I recently decided to try out!

This polish really is metallic! In darker lights the shade of the polish is a brownish red but in lighting this polish is a purple shade! For a pound its amazing! I've had many compliments on this polish whilst I was trying it out!

This polish is also from W7 and is in the shade 88 Metallic Mars. You can see the red and brown undertones in the bottle which is really interesting. Even if you don't buy this polish I suggest you picking it up in a store just to see how the colours change!

So have you tried any W7 nail polish? Let me know in the comments!

Primark Haul - November 2013

During the weekend me and my boyfriend decided it was time to head in to the shops to finish off bits of Christmas shopping. During this little shopping visit I decided to pick up a few bits from Primark. So I thought I would show you guys what I picked up!

Green lace dress with black skinny belt - £10

The first thing I picked up I saw walking in to Primark. It was this lovely lace dress in an emerald green colour. You can't really tell from the photo but the arms are see-through lace and the body of the dress has a green underskirt. I love the lace dresses from Primark as they are perfect to dress up or down and for lace dresses they are pretty durable! This is also a good length and thickness so I can see it being good for winter and summer if you dress it right!

Primark Leggings - £3 each

The next thing I picked up was pretty boring. I have had the same leggings for ages - I have around four pairs from various brands. But lately they have gone a bit bitty and...well... not as nice as they once were! So I decided to pick up some new ones! I like the Primark leggings as they feel comfy and don't end up going see-through! They are also only £3 each so I picked up four pairs. Primark have a good range of patterned and coloured leggings so if you are in to varied leggings go and take a look!

Super Cosy Fleece Lined Tights - £3.50

Ever since my last trip to Primark I have fallen in love with their super cosy range. I planned on also picking up another pair of the leggings in the Super Cosy range but I couldn't seem to find them! So I think from now on I'll be picking up a pair of the tights and leggings when I go in to there! They are just so comfy and warm! Definitely recommend these for winter!

So that was my small Primark haul! I have a New Look haul coming up for you guys as recently I was given money for Christmas and I decided to buy whole new wardrobe pieces from New Look - so keep an eye out for that!

Have you bought anything new from Primark lately? Let me know in the comments!

Poundland Beauty: W7 Nail Polish for £1 - Roast Chestnut

Hi everyone! Hope you are all well today! I've really been struggling to find a good autumn/winter colour for my nails - however the other day at Poundland I found the perfect colour!

This colour is the perfect shade of brown for me. It reminds me so much of hot chocolate which I become addicted to during the Autumn/Winter season! This colour would you believe it is only from one coat! It is so opaque!

The polish is from W7 and is number 54 Roast Chestnut - by the way how unbelievable hard is it to photograph dark nail polishes - particularly in Winter with the awful lighting?! As you can see from the photo there are definitley little gold flecks/undertones to the polish so it really looks pretty in the light! For a pound you can't really argue! Well done Poundland!

So have you tried any W7 nail polishes? Let me know in the comments!

Winter Fashion - OOTD 11th November 2013

So the Winter cold weather has definitely arrived! I love Winter simply because it's a chance to wrap up warm and wear baggy clothes!

One of my favourite things to wear are jumpers; especially jumper that you can wear as dresses! This one I love wearing as it is full length and is really thick and can be worn as either a dress or a top. Its looks great dressed up and as a lazy day jumper! The jumper is from Primark. I also teamed this up with a baggy cardigan from George at Asda a few years back and some leggings from New Look. Then I tied it all together with a belt from ASOS which I got last year!

With the Autumn/Winter transition comes the horrible sludge and leaves on the ground so I love wearing combat boots. I love these boots and for Primark boots they have lasted so long and are very durable!

I hope you guys liked this OOTD post - I must admit I haven't done one in a while! What are you loving this Autumn/Winter? Let me know in the comments!

Soap & Glory - The Righteous Butter review

Soap & Glory - The Righteous Butter

I have Soap & Glory to thank (or blame) for my addiction to body butters as of late. The Righteous Butter was given to me last Christmas in the Soap & Glory gift set and before then I had not really tried a lot of body butters. However The Righteous Butter had me at hello at converted my to trying out not only their body butter but others as well.

Soap & Glory - The Righteous Butter

Much like a lot of other Soap & Glory products the scent is very clean and soap like ( I am so bad at describing scents) and the texture... well the texture is so smooth and almost like water despite being a thick cream. It feels incredibly hydrating to the skin and because it glides on a little goes a long way so it lasts an awfully long time! The moisturiser/butter does its job and keeps the skin feeling lovely and smooth with a really fresh sent. I like to use this after I've shaved or whenever my skin is dry during the colder months. I have the little 50ml tub here which you can pick up here at Boos for £2.50 if you would like to give it a try. However if you fall in love with this and want the bigger tub, which I plan on picking up, you can also get a 300ml tub here at Boots for £10.50. If you're interested in the gift set I was bought you can pick it up here for £10 at Boots. I can totally recommend this gift set as I found some amazing products through it and an amazing brand!

So have you tried The Righteous Butter? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!

Company Liquid & Pencil Eyeliner review

Company Liquid & Pencil Eyeliner

Its not very often that I choose to review a product I don't like. However sometimes you just need to do a negative review on a product! A good few months back I picked up a Company magazine as I love picking up magazines to read through and to try the free samples! Along free with my Company magazine came this eyeliner - the Company Liquid & Pencil Eyeliner.

Company Liquid & Pencil Eyeliner - Pencil Eyeliner

Firstly the eye-liner comes in two parts with the narrow end being a screw up pencil eyeliner. I personally rarely use pencil eyeliner nowadays but I thought I would give it a try. I  didn't find the dullness of the pencil eye-liner very appealing as I like a dark look that is very sharp when using liner but if you are a fan of blending out eye-liner the formula is nice and creamy.

Company Liquid & Pencil Eyeliner - Liquid Eyeliner

As for the liquid eyeliner... well I love the pigment of the eyeliner but the wand is my enemy! It is completely rock solid so you can't use the wand in any way other than awkwardly to line the eye! I don't know about you but I like eyeliner brushes that have a bit of give so they can curve with the shape of my eye. I'm pretty sure this wand head was made of plastic which was a big no no for me. Which leads me on to my next point. The smell. The smell was nothing more than the overpowering scent of plastic for the liquid eyeliner! A massive no no there.

As for the staying power of the pair? They would stick around for about 3/4 hours then flake off which annoys me to no end! To be honest the only positive I found about this product was the pigmentation of the liquid eyeliner.

So there you go! Have you guys ever tried this eyeliner? Did you have a better experience than me? Let me know in the comments!
