*Makeup Revolution: I ♡ Makeup - Paris and West End Girls - Eyeshadow Palettes - Review*

Recently I have been delving in to the world of eyeshadows. I have been given confidence out of no where to begin playing with new colours I wouldn't usually wear.  Okay sometimes I fall back in to old, smoky eyed habits but I am definitely becoming more confident! Makeup Revolution sent me two of their gorgeous palettes from their I  Makeup: I   Obsession line. The two palettes they sent were Paris and West End Girls.

Makeup Revolution: I ♡ Makeup - Paris and West End Girls - Eyeshadow Palettes

Makeup Revolution do a fantastic job at producing durable and professional looking palettes at such an affordable price. I have tried a few of their palettes and I love them. These two palettes have a fantastic blend of neutrals and stand out colours. You can find Paris here and West End Girls here both for the amazing price of £3.99.

Makeup Revolution: I ♡ Makeup - Paris - Eyeshadow Palette

Paris is a perfect blend of golden neutrals, browns with a hint of colour. The bottom row of both Paris and West End Girls have a row of highlight colours which, to be honest, are very hard to swatch on my awfully pale skin. However I can confirm they are stunning. There is a mix of mattes and shimmers which gives great variety for those that like different finishes to their highlighters.

Makeup Revolution: I ♡ Makeup - Paris - Eyeshadow Palette - Swatches

Above is Paris swatched. If you follow me on my Instagram you will have already gotten a sneak peak at these swatches. They are absolutely stunning. The finish on them is flawless and the ability to both blend and intensify these colours is absolutely stunning.

Makeup Revolution: I ♡ Makeup - West End Girls - Eyeshadow Palette

Next we have West End Girls which is by far the deeper toned palette. I have to admit I have been drawn more to this palette as I am a fan of deeper shades of eyeshadows. I won't sing the praises of the highlighter shades again... I'll just say once again they're stunning.

Makeup Revolution: I ♡ Makeup - West End Girls - Swatches

I am in love with the golden shade in this palette. Swatches and pictures don't do this shade justice for how gorgeous it looks on the eye. It is stunning and I have created so many looks with that shade. It will hit pan first I am sure!

I hope you enjoyed reading a few of my thoughts on these two stunning palettes. Have you tried these palettes or anything from the  I  Makeup: I   Obsession line? What is your favourite product from Makeup Revolution? Let me know in the comments!

Gaz's Easter Surprise - A fantastic anniversary/Easter/birthday idea!

Hello everyone! I have a bit of a lifestyle blog for you all today! Soon Gaz will be going away for work just before we go to Colwyn Bay. It is the first time we've been apart pretty much since we got together which is insane. Anyway before he left he wanted to plan a little Easter/ Engagement anniversary surprise. It is coming up to a year since Gareth proposed... madness I know and we're still in the process of beginning to plan an actual wedding! Life gets in the way doesn't it? Anyway he planned a little surprise which resulted in me finding all these goodies...

Gaz's Easter Surprise

Yes Gaz arranged a little surprise treating me to all my favourite little treats! Here is what he did...

Notes/Clues

Firstly when I came in from work Gaz handed me a little clue on a piece of paper. He had planned out the location of 12 clues around the house. My job was to go on the hunt for the next location of each!

Food!

As I went to each clue I revealed a gift for each! He had hidden some food goodies such as mini eggs, Monster energy (a vice of mine) Oreo and Oreo ice cream which is just delicious!

Yankee Candle Holder and Candles

He had also picked up 4 mini Yankee Candles and a Yankee Candle holder. I absolutely loved these and the scents he chose. This gorgeous little holder is now sat on my bedside table. I absolutely love it.

L'Oreal Paris Nail Varnish

He also picked me up this gorgeous top coat from L'Oreal Paris. He was worried with this one as he doesn't usually pick up things like this however I think he did very well! I had a very similar top coat in the past which I loved and used up so I am very exited to use this over the half term break!

I think Gaz did a very good job! It was such a lovely idea that he had put together as a little Easter surprise before leaving. I think this would make a great birthday, Easter or anniversary idea. It was really fun going on the hunt for each clue and trying to work out the location of each! It was also very romantic knowing that Gaz had remembered all my little favourites and had gone to all that effort! Very well done to him :) Also forgive the darkness of the photos. I took these that very evening and used my Iphone flash-light as my own light box!

Product Empties #16

Product Empties #16

The more and more I leave my product empties posts till last minute the larger they become. I had to bite the bullet and FINALLY do this post as my product empties post was annoying me with how full it was! I already have some empties ready to go in the bag for when this post goes up... It's never ending! Anyway lets get on with the post!

Haircare

Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL

Those of you that have been following my blog for a while will know how much I love Batiste XXL dry shampoo. Lets be honest... who has time to wash their hair every night? For me it is too much time and effort each night! Batiste XXL volume not only helps me leave my hair a little longer between washes it also adds amazing volume and gives body back to my hair. I will always recommend this!

L'Oreal Colour Protect Shampoo and Conditioner

I've been using this since I was 16 on my dyed, black, hair. I would totally recommend this shampoo and conditioner. Frankly I only changed from this shampoo and conditioner combo as I was bored after 7 years! Wow that makes me feel old...

TRESemme Pro-Shine Heat Protect Style Primer

I must admit although I liked this heat defence spray I enjoy others that are cheaper and contain more product. I would totally recommend this however I have since returned to my good old V05 spray. If this was on offer, which TRESemme often is, I would totally pick it up.

Shower

Imperial Leather and Possibility shower gel

Here we have the Imperial Leather shower gel which are both Gaz's. I think he has gotten in the habit of contributing to the bag also! Gaz says the Imperial Leather shower gel was 'nice' 'lasted a long time' and 'smelt nice'. He did say that 'the smell didn't really linger after the shower' which he likes. I think we have a new budding blogger! We also have the Possibility shower gel from Poundland. I'm sad this has run out as I picked it up the weekend away when I got in engaged! For that reason the scent of it is very sentimental.

Skincare

Gilette Satin Care for Sensitive Skin
Gilette Satin Care for Sensitive Skin

Honestly at the minute my skin is so sensitive. My contact dermatitis and eczema are really bad at the minute so I have to be super concious of what I put on my skin. The Gilette Satin Care shaving cream does the job for the most part. If my skin is really sensitive it can still be a bit harsh however for the most part it is really good!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water and Nivea Night Cream

The Garnier micellar water is by far absolute favourite. I will always be repurchasing this as it is frankly the easiest and quickest thing to remove my make-up at the end of the day. It is also amazing value for money for the amount you get.

The Nivea night cream has been a rediscovery for me. I always used to use this when I was younger and decided to repurchase it. As a winter night cream it is absolutely amazing.

Scents

Nivea Sensitive Deodrant and Soap & Glory Mist You Madly
Nivea Sensitive Deodrant and Soap & Glory Mist You Madly

The Nivea sensitive deodrant is the same as the shaving gel for me. It does the job however it is very powder at times so you have to be careful!

Soap & Glory Mist You Madly is one of my favourite body sprays. I absolutely love it and the floral scent it has!

Makeup

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer

This is my daily primer. I absolutely love it and it's all my skin really needs before I apply my make-up. I know it is a bit of a hit and miss product but I absolutely love it. It helps with the appearance of my pores and gives a fantastic base for my make-up to sit on.

Wipes

Wipes

If you've checked out a few of my reviews on wipes you know I have tons at my disposal for freshening my face up in the morning and evening. I'll give you a quick run through of each.

Simply Pure - A 99p store find. A bit too dry for my liking.
Pure Deep Cleanse - Has a lovely refreshing smell and is very moist. Feels very refresshing.
Pure Age Defiance - Not too sure about the claim however as above a very damp wipe that does the job!
Soap & Glory Off Your Face - I will be doing a full review on this however I will say I absolutely loved these and that the scent is too die for!

Bits and Bobs

Bits and Bobs

As always we have the usual soap, cotton buds and pads packets to show off. Where would we be without these little bits and bobs?

So that is it. We're finally at the end! Congrats if you made it this far! Have you tried any of these products? Do you log your product empties? Let me know in the comments!

OOTD 14.03.15

Hello everyone! It has been a while since I've gotten round to posting a fashion post. I was trying to maintain weekly OOTD however between work and lazy weekends there are only so many outfits I can wear that you haven't already seen! That and I always need my trusty photographer, the other half Gaz, around to take the photo! So lets get to it!

OOTD 14.03.15

Shirt: New Look
Skirt: George at Asda
Leggings: Warehouse
Satchel: George at Asda
Boots: New Look
Watch: Lorus

A very neutral OOTD this week but the skirt is what I really wanted to focus on. It's another steal from George at Asda. It is really high waisted with a chunky belt which is hidden in this photo. The lace detail is very intricate but not delicate. It's thick enough and durable enough that it is perfect for work, leisure or an evening out. I'd really love photograph a few more looks with this skirt as it really is easy to style and effortless.

Bomb Cosmetics - Fuchsia Falls Bath Blaster - Review

Bomb Cosmetics - Fuchsia Falls Bath Blaster

I have to say... when I have had a stressful day and I want a soak in the bath there is nothing better than a good old bath bomb. I know a lot of people rave about a certain leading brand however I really do think Bomb Cosmetics need to receive just as much love! They are so affordable and I constantly finding myself buying more and more from the brand... how could you say no to this bath both? For £2.29 as well... pretty darn affordable! Check out this bath bomb here.

First off, Fuchsia Falls makes your bath an adorable pink colour. After this follows a lovely mix of floral and sweet scents. The bath bomb itself contains lavender and rose essential oils which are used to help calm and soothe. I must say the whole bath was pretty relaxing! One thing to watch out for though... the flowers on the bath bomb are plastic and do not dissolve so make sure you clean them out of the bath!

I've only been trying bits and bobs from this brand lately but I am so in love! Have you tried anything from Bomb Cosmetics? Where do you like to get your indulgent bath and shower products from? Let me know in the comments!

Book Review: Paper Towns by John Green

It has been a while since I've published a book review... once again this post has been tucked away in my drafts file for a while so I thought I would dig it back out and finally publish it! I hope you guys don't mind the recent blast from the past photography wise!

Paper Towns by John Green

Firstly, if you are a fan of Looking for Alaska or An Abundance of Katherines you will more than likely love this book. I know there has been a lot of criticism of these books as they follower similar themes however I applaud John Green on this. He has found a formula that works ad has stuck to it which has brought forward a very loyal fan base of readers for him.

The book centres around the two main characters Quentin and Margo. Without revealing too many spoilers a major event connects both Quentin's and Margo's past. One which leads them to meeting up in the future sharing memories during an all nighter. Shortly after this however Margo vanishes. The rest of the book centres around Quentin's attempts to track down Margo.

One thing I will say about this book, which I didn't find with a lot of John Green's other books is that it did seem to drag on a bit. I found myself skim reading some bits in the middle which I felt could have been expanded on and developed in a much quicker way. The plot and storyline, all be it similar to his previous books, It is, in sorts, a book about following clues and detecting where the story line will take you. Personally as a 20something year old reader I found it an enjoyable light read. I would definitely recommend it for the young YA audience it is intended for.

Have you read any books by John Green? Have you read Paper Towns? If so... what were your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!

*Simple: Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser* - Review

I'm delving into my drafts folder once again! Yes I have a stockpile of plenty of reviews that got lost in my schedule in the process of mine and Gaz's move. So I am slowly working my way through them! Today I am taking a look at the Simple Kind To Skin hydrating light moisturiser.

Simple: Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser

If you've been a follower of my blog for a while you will know how much I love Simple. I have used their products for years and they are such a great, go to brand at such an affordable price. This moisturiser is available for £4.50. You can check it out here on the Boots website.

The moisturiser itself is fantastic. It always leaves my skin feeling hydrated and nourished. The moisturiser itself absorbs like water and, as the name would suggest, it is very lightweight making it perfect for those that don't like the feeling of products/moisturiser on their face. The only way I could improve this product is by adding SPF for the day time however this probably would have made the product less lightweight so I can deal with that!

Have you tried the Simple Kind to Skin range or their light moisturiser? What is your favourite lightweight moisturiser? Let me know in the comments below!

*Caribou Cosmetics: Dual Fibre Powder Brush and Foundation Brush - Review*

Recently I've become really obsessed with make-up brushes despite having a massive collection for just one person. Caribou Cosmetics recently sent me two brushes to review so I am going to let you all know my thoughts on the two brushes they sent!

The two brushes Caribou Cosmetics sent were the Dual Fibre Powder Brush and their Foundation Brush. The dual fibre powder brush retails for £19.00 and the foundation bush retails for £16.00 currently. They are both on sale so be sure to snap them up if you're interested in them!

First lets take a look at the powder brush. Well it is unbelievably soft! To apply powder it is just a dream. Rather than any powder getting lost in the brush itself it sits nicely on the bristles allowing for a smooth application and less powder being wasted. The handle of the brush is really solid so it feels like a high quality brush in your hands whilst you're using it. After washing this brush I can report that there was no shedding and the shape returned to the brush very well after drying.

Next we have the foundation brush. This brush was amazing for me as it had two purposes. I was able to use it for both my foundation and my concealer. One thing I have noticed in my many years of trying make-up brushes out is that foundation brushes are tricky to get right. Some can leave streak marks on your face from the brush itself. This brush however didn't have that problem. I think this is because the bristles are very soft and subtle but still dense enough to apply foundation. This brush gets a massive thumbs up from me! This is also another brush that washes and dries very well.

Wish list:
So because I have absolutely fallen in love with these brushes I am writing up a little wish list of the brushes and sets that I have my eye on!
