L'oreal Lumi Magique Primer - Review

If you checked out my December Boots haul you will know that I picked up a primer to try. The L'oreal Lumi Magique Primer.

L'oreal Lumi Magique Primer

I have tried a few primers from L'oreal and absolutely loved them. The L'oreal Lumi Magique is no different. The primer itself is a white liquid silicone consistency that glides on to the skin effortlessly. It gives a lovely base to the skin as well as a nice subtle glow to the skin so it gives the skin a natural radiant appearance. As a primer it is top notch especially if you are the type of person who layers a few products before applying foundation as its so fine that it feels like it has added no weight on to your skin.

As a primer it is fantastic - particularly if you are a person that is on the go. Your make-up has that just applied look for longer and for me this primer allows me make-up to last 2/3 hours longer than without any primer. You can check out the L'oreal Lumi Magique primer here which is available for £9.99.

Have you tried the L'oreal Lumi Magique primer? Have you tried another Loreal primer or do you have a favourite primer you stick by? Let me know in the comments!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NC15 - Review

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NC15

If you have been following my blog recently you will know that I got my very first MAC brushes for Christmas which also then led me to pick up the MAC Zoom Lash mascara from a sample I ended up loving. I also made another purchase from MAC one which I was over the moon about finally getting. MAC Studio Fix Fluid. Yes I finally invested in a MAC foundation! I've been trying this out for about a month now as I really like to try and test foundations to give them a good opportunity to impress me. MAC Studio Fix Fluid not only impressed me but it blew me away!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NC15

Firstly I just have to say that a foundation has never matched my skin tone better. I am in NC15 and I have never had a foundation look so flawlessly matched to my skin even when I occasionally forget to blend down to my neck. I would recommend the foundation just on this alone as I am often left so disappointed in foundations when they have amazing coverage and a beautiful finish but then begin to oxidise as the day goes on. MAC Studio Fix Fluid doesn't oxidise on my skin, it matches my skin tone when I apply it and continues to until I remove it.

The coverage of this foundation is medium to full and is certainly build-able. Anyone that knows me knows that I use a little amount of foundation. Literally we are talking a few drops on my face – about half a pump worth of foundation at a push! This foundation glides on so smoothly that you don’t need to pack on the product at all. It applies as smoothly as if it were a moisturiser. It also has a really clean scent which is nice. For those of you that aren't a fan of scented face products don’t worry the smell doesn't linger. The finish is also very beautiful. It has a very natural finish in my opinion and feels so smooth on the skin.  MAC Studio Fix Fluid also has an SPF of 15. You can checkout MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation here - which retails for £21.50.

Have you tried any MAC foundations? What is your favourite MAC foundation? If you haven't what foundation are you using currently? Let me know in the comments!

Soap & Glory - Scrub of Your Life review

Once again here I am with another Soap & Glory review from the Yule Monty gift set I bought. This time round its the Soap & Glory Scrub of Your Life.

Soap & Glory - Scrub of Your Life

As you can see I have both the little travel size and the full size version of this product. The travel size is 50ml and will set you back only £2.50 (click here to check it out) and the full 200ml size comes in at £7.00 (click here to check out the full size). The great thing about Soap & Glory is that not only do they have pretty decent full sized products for a good price they also have pretty cheap smaller/travel size versions of products so you can give them a try before you buy the bigger size! They also have a great selection of gift sets to try a bit of everything.

Anyway on to Scrub of Your Life! Scrub of your life is a scrub for your body - its basically an exfoliant. I love this scrub for a number of reasons. Firstly it is a really soft scrub so for winter its perfect. It still gets your skin really soft but it doesn't feel like you are being to harsh with your skin to achieve this result. So for those of you after a softer scrub for the winter or who don't like scrubs that are to abrasive this is perfect. Secondly this scrub also lathers up and has a soap like effect too so it really feels like you are getting clean as well as leaving the skin soft and moisturised rather than just harshly scrubbed. Lastly the scent - the scent is the typically Soap & Glory scent so I absolutely love it.

Personally I love this product as a daily scrub or a scrub to use 2/3 times a week which is personally how much I use it. I have two of the 50ml small sized tubes and I can tell you they last a long time so I can only imagine how long the bigger tube will last!

Have you tried Soap & Glory Scrub of Your Life? What is your favourite scrub at the moment? Let me know in the comments!

MAC Stroke of Midnight Brush Kit: Mineralize - Special Edition

Hell everyone! I hope you are all doing great. If you managed to take a look at my Christmas blog post you will know that I received a very special present that I was very exited about. The MAC Stroke of Midnight Brush Kit: Mineralize. Rather than writing a review since you can't pick this set up any more (although the brushes are available as standard MAC brushes) I thought I would give you all a brief look at the gift set and what is included as well as my thoughts on the brushes!

MAC Stroke of Midnight Brush Kit: Mineralize

My wonderful boyfriend, the amazing person that he is, remembered me being exited that MAC had released a limited edition brush set as they rarely do these little brush sets. Up until Christmas I owned no MAC products but I longingly wanted to. So I have my wonderful boyfriend to thank for starting me out on MAC products! The set comes in this black box which you can see in the photo above with the classic MAC lettering. Inside is where you can find all the wonderful goodies!

In the set comes a little bag/ purse which is really high quality. I have kept this in my make-up storage but I plan on using this as a purse on nights out as it really is pretty. I also received two samples with this - the MAC Zoom Lash which I actually ended up buying the full size of and reviewing here and the MAC Prep and Prime which I have tried and liked. Of course you also get the brushes with this brush set!

MAC Brushes - MAC 159SE, MAC187SE, MAC286SE, MAC287SE

In this brush set are four brushes which you can find in the normal MAC line. I will link all of the brushes you can get from the standard line. In the brush set you receive special edition versions of the MAC159, MAC187, MAC286 and the MAC287. All of these brushes are duo fibre.

MAC 159 Special Edition

The MAC159 is a brush designed for the application of blush and that is exactly what I have used this for. It is great for evenly distributing powder on to the cheeks and is the perfect size for blush application. There is nothing more I can say on this brush only that it really is a great brush and really does ensure that blush is applied evenly on to the skin.

MAC187 - Special Edition

Next we have the MAC187 which I have fallen in love with. This brush is essentially a powder brush which again is exactly how I have been using it. This brush is amazing - it gives a flawless look to the skin just by applying the powder so finely and evenly on to your foundation. It blends the powder beautifully on to the skin and also ensures that any foundation you are setting with powder is good to go. I am in love with this brush.

MAC286 - Special Edition

Also included in the set is the MAC286. This brush is a blending brush. I have tried this as a blending brush and it really does get in to the crease and help blend out the product really well as well as evenly across the eyelid. I have also found a use for this in blending out any foundation or concealer around the eye area as it is very soft and gentle which you always want to be around the eye area.

MAC287 - Special Edition

Finally we have the MAC287 which is another amazing brush. This brush is designed for applying eyeshadow which again I have tried but I find that the brush is slightly too big for my eyelids. However I absolutely love this brush for applying and blending out concealer as it really does blend the concealer well in to the skin.

So those were my thoughts on the MAC Stroke of Midnight Brush Kit: Mineralize. Were any of you lucky enough to pick up this brush set? Have you got any of these brushes from the standard MAC line of brushes? Let me know your thoughts and opinions on the set and brushes in the comments below!

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser review

Today I am going to be taking a look at a new product that has been hyped up so much recently. The Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. Everyone knew about the craze that was the Maybelline Baby Lips (check out my review here) so now it’s time for Maybelline to rekindle the hype for a second product in the Baby range (weird to say…).

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser

The idea behind this 'lightweight primer' is that it is supposed to blur out your pores as opposed to the Benefit Porefessional which fills in your pores. I haven’t yet tried this but when I do I’ll be sure to compare the two. This product is also supposed to be a primer so after you have applied this you are ready to apply your make-up as normal.

So what are my thoughts? Well I have been trying this out all week since I got it last Saturday (I wanted to give you guys a quick update on this new product but still give the product a good test!) and I have to say that for me the product does blur out my pores; however I notice this most when I have applied my make-up. I feel like my skin looks a lot smoother than usual and that the finish is much more flawless. Admittedly I don’t have a major problem with my pores, just a few big pores from acne scarring from my teenage years, however I did notice a massive difference in the finish of my make-up.

However one problem I do have with the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer are its claims to be a primer for your make-up. I use primer myself to make my make-up last that little bit longer as I wear my make-up through pretty long days where I don’t really have the time or space in my bag to touch up! I have tried the product with numerous foundations from drugstore Rimmel up to MAC foundation and it just doesn’t give my make-up any extra or added length than the days I forget to put primer on! I find my skin goes shiny and make-up begins to shift after about 5 hours. I recommend using this alongside your normal primer for that flawless, long-lasting look.

So overall yes I do believe that this product helps minimize the look of pores and create a flawless finish to your make-up but as a primer I feel like it lets itself down. If Maybelline had simply labelled this a pore corrector or eraser then I would be totally sold on it but with the added claim it’s a primer I can’t say it 100% lives up to the name and left me slightly disappointed that I couldn't just use it for a flawless finish and as a primer though it did give a smooth surface for my make-up to go on.

One final thing I would like to mention is that a few people have reviewed this product and mentioned they have had a skin reaction to it. I would urge anyone with sensitive skin to test this on a small patch of skin just to be safe. I myself have sensitive skin and I had no problems. Some other claims have also been that it is an oily product but personally I didn’t feel like this product was oily on the skin. If you have a tester available to you in store I would suggest trying this out on the back of your hand to see how you feel about the consistency. If you like silicone based products or the feel they have (which I do) you should love this.

Have you tried out the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer – what were your thoughts? What primer would you recommend? Let me know!

Soap & Glory - Peaches and Clean Deep Purifying Cleanser review

Here I am once again reviewing another Soap & Glory product that I got inside my Yule Monty set. This time around it is Peaches and Clean!

Soap & Glory - Peaches and Clean Deep Purifying Cleanser

I have been wanting to try Peaches and Clean for the longest time so I am so glad that this was included in the Yule Monty set. Peaches and Clean is a 3 in 1 wash off cleanser that is supposed to get rid of all your make-up as well as provide a deep cleanse for your skin. You can usually pick this up for £8 for 200ml. Check out Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean here.

So what are my thoughts? Well I initially thought I hated this product. On the front of the bottle Peaches and Clean promotes being 'for all skin types'. Personally I think this is wrong and here is why! I have sensitive skin and I decided to first try this one morning a few weeks ago. After using it my face was as red as red can be! I was worried that this was a skin/allergic reaction as I am prone to them however luckily after a lot of moisturiser and 30-40 minutes the redness went down. After that initial skin reaction it hasn't happened since. Following my first use I did some research and discovered that I was not the only person who experiences this. On further research I discovered the reason why this reaction occurs is because the ingredients in the product are so active that your skin may not be used to it and show a slight reaction So my only advice is to be ready for that initial redness! To be honest I think your skin has to build up a tolerance or an acceptance to those active ingredients before you can fully enjoy the benefits!

Now my skin is totally used to this and I love it. Even after that initial redness my skin was left the softest and cleanest that it has been in a while. I even use it as a deep cleansing face mask now a few times a week - I leave this on for 10 minutes then wash it off! So for me it has two uses as both a make-up remover and a face mask. I definitely see this as a necessity in my routine now as it leaves my skin feeling so flawless and clean. Also I love the smell - yes it does smell like peaches and yes the smell may make you consider if you should eat the cleanser or use it on your face! Overall I am so happy I finally got to try this and I definitely plan on buying more in the future!

So have any of you tried the Peaches and Clean cleanser?  What are your thoughts? Did you experience a reaction? Let me know in the comments!

MAC Zoom Lash Mascara in Zoomblack review

Hello everyone! Hope you are all doing well. Today I bring a first for my blog which I am very exited about. I am today going to be reviewing a MAC product! The MAC Zoom Lash mascara to be exact! If you managed to check out my Christmas blog post you will know that I got my very first MAC products for Christmas! My lovely Boyfriend got me the MAC Stroke of Midnight Brush Kit: Mineralize which is a limited edition brush set from MAC (don't worry - a blog post on those will be coming up shortly!). With this brush set came two samples. One of those samples was the MAC Zoom Lash which as you can tell I have now picked up a full size of! I also picked up some MAC foundation which I will also be reviewing in the near future!

MAC Zoom Lash Mascara in Zoomblack

The packaging for MAC cosmetics are to such a high standard. The mascara is in a plain black mascara tube which is both very sleek and durable. The MAC logo is at the bottom of the tube in silver.

As you can see the colour I picked up is called 'Zoomblack' which is a basic black. The mascara is also available in brown You can check this out on the MAC website here. This mascara retails for £14.

MAC Zoom Lash Mascara in Zoomblack - Mascara Wand

Above you can see the mascara wand. Usually I like a big mascara brush however I really do like this brush. I feel like the small fine bristles allow for the lashes to be nicely defined and separated. The brush is easy to work with and can really get to all those lashes and hard to get areas.

MAC Zoom Lash Mascara in Zoomblack - Lashes

So now on to how the lashes actually look. The photo above is just one coat of the MAC Zoom Lash mascara. I really do love this mascara it looks amazing. It adds a bit of glamour to natural lashes and really separates the lashes lovely. The formula itself is a wet formula so if you like dry formulas for your mascara you may not like this. I also love this mascara because it lasts the whole day and doesn't smudge at all! It really lasts until you take it off and the lashes look great throughout the day. £14 is usually more than I'd like to spend on mascara but I am definitely glad I made the investment!

Have you tried MAC or MAC Mascaras? Have you tried Zoom Lash? What were your thoughts? Let me know in the comments! Let me know your favourite mascara too!

Soap & Glory Heel Genius review

If you have been checking out my blog recently you will know that I recently picked up the Yule Monty bag from Soap & Glory. Amongst all the goodies was the Soap & Glory Heel Genius. I have been meaning to try this product out for a while as I have heard great things from people that use this. Truth be told bar doing the old trick where you put moisturiser on then chuck on bed socks I have never invested in a cream specifically for your feet.
Soap & Glory Heel Genius

The Heel Genius is basically a moisturiser for your feet that you put on under socks over night. The real secret to this product working is to let it do its magic over night and just letting it soak in. I was pretty sceptical of if I actually needed a cream just for my feet but let me tell you my opinion has changed and I would totally recommend this to everyone. It really does leave your feet smooth and for those of us that are on their feet constantly or do a lot of walking it really does calm them down when they are a bit read and swollen. I thought my feet were pretty soft and in good condition before using this but the Heel Genius left my feet feeling even softer and smoother and with lasting results. I applied this for a few weeks every night then left my feet on separate occasions over Christmas. My feet still remained as smooth as ever. This is a product you can use every night but for lasting results you really don't have to!

The product itself has a slight blue tint to it and has a musky smell. The smell is nice but not really noticeable after a few minutes. This product also soaks in so well and so quickly which I love. The price is pretty amazing too. For 125ml you pay £5.50. Check it out on the Boots website here.

So what have you tried from the Soap & Glory range? Have you tried Heel Genius - what were your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation review

When I was younger I always thought all you ever needed was the one foundation. Recently I have been experimenting and trying out different and new foundations. I must admit it is nice to have that little bit of variety, just having the option of how you want your skin to look each day is really nice! So to those that like me usually stick to the same foundation I urge you to take the leap and try something new!

Anyway the latest foundation I decided to pick up and try was the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation which I have been using for around 2 weeks now. If you saw my recent boots haul you will have spotted that I hauled this product this month!

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation

Rimmel foundations, in my opinion, are always a great all rounder. They are great price for drugstore and there always seems to be a good colour selection availability. They also have great longevity and finishes, all to varying degrees.

This foundation is a perfect match for me and has a light to medium coverage - you can definitely build this foundation up. For me this foundation offers lovely coverage but not at the expense of looking natural. One of the most important factors for me is natural looking foundation but one that you can work with, that you can build up for those bad skin days but will still look natural. This foundation does just that! This has become my go to foundation for day to day. Now on to that 25 hour claim.... Is it realistic? Well the answer is no. For those of us that are out and about and very active during the day you will get the usually 8 hours wear out of it no problem. The foundation also naturally fades rather than goes patchy. However I have to say the most I have gotten out of this foundation as of yet is around 12 hours which is pretty long lasting for a foundation. You can grab this foundation for £7.99 at boots here which for 30ml of product is pretty darn good. The bottle is glass and there is a pump so you can easily apply the foundation.

If you are interested in any other Rimmel foundations check out my reviews here:

So have you tried this foundation? What's your go to foundation? Let me know in the comments!
