Valentines Day 2014

Hello everyone - I hope you are all doing well! Today I thought I would do a lifestyle post since I made a promise to myself that this year I am going to take more pictures, keep a better record of days out throughout the year and write more lifestyle posts!

Albert Dock - Liverpool

So this particular post is about valentines day 2014. Me and the OH decided to have a meal out on the 15th since we were both in work on the 14th. In reality our valentines night was spent ordering a take out, Chinese to be exact - yum, whilst watching Coronation Street and me trying to coax the OH in to giving me a back rub because 'it's valentines day'.

You will have to forgive me for having my hair scrapped back and being hidden in a snood but it was so cold and windy that I had to tie my hair back till we got there and keep warm in my snood! We decided we would go to a place called Gusto in Liverpool which you can take a look at here. We had our first year anniversary meal here so we decided we would stick to what we know and go again!

Anyone who has a busy lifestyle knows how nice it is to have a sit down meal and a catch up. Our Valentines meal was no exception. I had a few glasses of wine and the OH had a few pints - we really enjoyed having a night to treat ourselves!

Now on to the food! For a starter I had meatballs. They were really lovely and filling and the sauce was so nice!

Yes I had pizza - I'm a girl who is not scared to eat when she's hungry even at restaurants! This was an american style pizza and it was really lovely. The pepperoni is a tad spicy which gives it a nice little kick!

As for gifts the OH did amazing. He got a personalized card with pictures of us all over it. He also got flowers sent to my house - red roses which are my favourite as well as a new watch and hand bag since I always ask for practical presents and he remembered that I wanted these!

How did you spend valentines day? Even if it was with Ben & Jerry I want to know!

Diesel - Loverdose Tattoo Perfume, Shower Gel and Body Lotion - Review

If you have seen my review of the original Loverdose perfume you know I was a big fan! I was so intrigued at the end of last year when I saw the Loverdose Tattoo advert, so much so that I ran down to boots to try a sample to test it out. Needless to say I saw myself wanting the Loverdose Tatoo perfume so my lovely boyfriend got me the gift set for Christmas! So I thought I would review it for you guys today!

Loverdose Tattoo Perfume, Shower Gel and Body Lotion

In the gift set came these three products. The Loverdose Tattoo perfume itself, of course, as well as Loverdose Tattoo Shower Gel and Loverdose Tattoo Body Lotion. Below I will list the prices and links for you guys to go check these products out!

Loverdose Tattoo Perfume

So first lets take a look at the perfume itself. The perfume is describes as having Sambac Jasmine Absolute, Rose Accord as its heart notes, Blackcurrant Accord as its top notes along with base notes of Tonka Beans, Vanilla Beans, Rice Steam Accord. The scent itself is described as oriental floral. To me this scent is definitely an evening scent. The blackcurrant scent to it is apparent and it has a musky, deep scent to it. The scent to Loverdose Tattoo is definitely more striking/strong to its original Loverdose counterpart. I myself wear this as an evening scent. I feel that the original Loverdose is a lovely floral daytime scent whereas Loverdose Tattoo is a great scent to transcend in to night time with!

he great thing I have found with Loverdose Tattoo is that after wearing my original Loverdose as a daytime scent I can spray this on top for the evening and the scent won't be affected at all! The perfume itself lasts for around 6/8 hours as you would expect but that just applied intensity of smell lasts for me at least 2 hours which I find amazing!

If you are a fan of the original Loverdose but you are after a stronger and deeper scent I highly suggest picking this up!

Loverdose Shower Gel and Body Lotion

Next I thought I would take a quick look at the Loverdose Tattoo Shower Gel and Body Lotion. I won't go on too much about the scent... as you can expect it has the exact same scent at the perfume. I like using these before a night out so I have that perfume smell lingering before I even apply the perfume! The shower gel comes out completely clear which looks really cool! It lathers up lovely as well which from a shower gel that comes from a gift set you can't complain about! The Loverdose Body Lotion is also a great little added gift. It is a white lotion that you can rub in to the skin. It leaves the skin feeling lovely and smooth and scented. If you enjoy having toiletries that match your perfumes or you would just prefer to get more products for your money I would definitely suggest picking up the gift set!

Soap & Glory - Mist You Madly - Review

Today I thought I would let you guys know my thoughts and opinions on Soap & Glory Mist You Madly. I have been after a body mist for a while now as I think they are a great alternative to perfume on those days I just want a light scent.

Soap & Glory - Mist you madly

Mist you Madly comes in a lovely pink spray bottle which does indeed as the name suggests mist the product evenly over the body. I really love the scent of mist you madly. The only way I can describe it is a musky floral scent. Its not overly sweet but has that sweet touch. The scent is described as a 'flirty, floral, fragrant body spray featuring notes of bergamont, and blackcurrant, magnolia, freesia, vanilla and musk. In my opinion you can definitely smell the vanilla and mush notes. Body mists don't last too long but this body mist has a lovely linger for 2/3 hours. The packaging is a sturdy pink plastic which looks lovely and feminine on any vanity.

You can get Mist you Madly in a smaller and larger size which is great as you can have a small one to carry around a larger one to stay at home on your vanity! You can pick up the smaller 100ml bottle for £3.50 or you can pick up the 250ml bottle for £6.50 both of which I think are very affordable. I currently use the 100ml smaller bottle as I wanted to try the scent out and as you can just about tell from the photo I am only at the neck of the bottle. I have been using this daily for about 2 months and I spray 3/4 times so this spray definitely lasts a long time!

So have you tried the Soap & Glory Mist You Madly? Or have you tried any of the other Soap & Glory scents? What is your favourite? Let me know in the comments below!

Olay Refreshing Toner - Review

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing great as always! Recently I have been getting in to skincare a lot more. I have been so well behaved with putting on day and night cream and I already religiously take off my make-up every night with make-up remover and cleanser. However I noticed the popularity of skin toners were once again on the increase so I thought I would pick myself up a new brand of toner to try. I used to use the Simple toner religiously every night when I was around 18/19 but I ended up getting bored with it. I just saw it as another step in my skincare routine when I didn't really wear that much make-up - and honestly I don't think young skin needs that much maintaining! This time round I thought I would try the Olay Refreshing Toner since Olay as a skincare brand has such a good reputation.

The Olay toner for me did not let the brand down. My skin is sensitive so my first worry with a toner is that it might be too strong for my skin but Olay managed to deliver a toner that left my skin feeling refreshed and clean. One unusual thing about this toner is that it is blue - from reviews I have read some people don't like this but I kind of do! It lets me know when I have wiped down my skin well because it turns from a bright blue to a green. The smell is the typical Olay smell but it also smells very clean. Head on over to the boots website here to check out the Olay toner which at the moment is being sold for a very affordable £1.99.

I use this toner by putting 3 or 4 drops on a cotton pad and wiping it over my face. I do this every morning before I apply my make-up and every night after I have removed my make-up and just before my night cream. This toner has left my skin feeling so clean since I first started using it. I plan on including a toner in my routine all the time now. I am back on the toner bandwagon!

Have you tried out the Olay Refreshing Toner? What toner do you use or have you yet to try a toner? Let me know your thoughts on skincare in the comments!

Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion review

Hello everyone! Hope you are all doing amazing as you enter the second month of February! Today I bring you my thoughts on yet another Soap & Glory product that I received in the Yule Monty gift set. Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Moisture lotion!

Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion

If you have been a follower of my blog for a while or have a look at my various skin care reviews you will know that I have eczema so I like to really keep on top of moisturising and skin care. Butter Yourself moisture lotion has become an important step for me in my skincare routine. The idea behind Butter Yourself is that its a moisture lotion that you can put on after a bath or a shower to help absorb moisture into your skin. I love using this after showers and baths to really lock in that moisture. Your skin will be left noticeably softer less than an hour after application! Using this every week keeps your skin soft and subtle for the long term. The smell is a mix of a more fruity scent and the typical Soap & Glory scent which I absolutely love. I have found that just using this lotion and no moisturiser is fantastic for keeping my skin soft and moisturised - which is pretty impressive since I have eczema and it is Winter!

I can't recommend this product enough. If you suffer from dry skin or you really like to moisturise straight after a bath or shower then this Soap & Glory lotion is especially for you. If you like to try different skin care products I would totally recommend you head on over to boots to take a look at this! Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion is £10 for 500ml which believe me will last you forever!

Have you tried Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion? What were your thoughts? What is your favourite skincare item at the moment? Let me know in the comments!

L'oreal Lumi Magique Primer - Review

If you checked out my December Boots haul you will know that I picked up a primer to try. The L'oreal Lumi Magique Primer.

L'oreal Lumi Magique Primer

I have tried a few primers from L'oreal and absolutely loved them. The L'oreal Lumi Magique is no different. The primer itself is a white liquid silicone consistency that glides on to the skin effortlessly. It gives a lovely base to the skin as well as a nice subtle glow to the skin so it gives the skin a natural radiant appearance. As a primer it is top notch especially if you are the type of person who layers a few products before applying foundation as its so fine that it feels like it has added no weight on to your skin.

As a primer it is fantastic - particularly if you are a person that is on the go. Your make-up has that just applied look for longer and for me this primer allows me make-up to last 2/3 hours longer than without any primer. You can check out the L'oreal Lumi Magique primer here which is available for £9.99.

Have you tried the L'oreal Lumi Magique primer? Have you tried another Loreal primer or do you have a favourite primer you stick by? Let me know in the comments!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NC15 - Review

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NC15

If you have been following my blog recently you will know that I got my very first MAC brushes for Christmas which also then led me to pick up the MAC Zoom Lash mascara from a sample I ended up loving. I also made another purchase from MAC one which I was over the moon about finally getting. MAC Studio Fix Fluid. Yes I finally invested in a MAC foundation! I've been trying this out for about a month now as I really like to try and test foundations to give them a good opportunity to impress me. MAC Studio Fix Fluid not only impressed me but it blew me away!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NC15

Firstly I just have to say that a foundation has never matched my skin tone better. I am in NC15 and I have never had a foundation look so flawlessly matched to my skin even when I occasionally forget to blend down to my neck. I would recommend the foundation just on this alone as I am often left so disappointed in foundations when they have amazing coverage and a beautiful finish but then begin to oxidise as the day goes on. MAC Studio Fix Fluid doesn't oxidise on my skin, it matches my skin tone when I apply it and continues to until I remove it.

The coverage of this foundation is medium to full and is certainly build-able. Anyone that knows me knows that I use a little amount of foundation. Literally we are talking a few drops on my face – about half a pump worth of foundation at a push! This foundation glides on so smoothly that you don’t need to pack on the product at all. It applies as smoothly as if it were a moisturiser. It also has a really clean scent which is nice. For those of you that aren't a fan of scented face products don’t worry the smell doesn't linger. The finish is also very beautiful. It has a very natural finish in my opinion and feels so smooth on the skin.  MAC Studio Fix Fluid also has an SPF of 15. You can checkout MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation here - which retails for £21.50.

Have you tried any MAC foundations? What is your favourite MAC foundation? If you haven't what foundation are you using currently? Let me know in the comments!
