W7 Brow Parlour - Review

W7 Brow Parlour

For the longest time I've been looking for an affordable brow kit. I'm not too fussed with my brows, I'll be honest. They just need a little bit of filling in. I'm not the type of person that could be bothered to draw in amazingly styled and detailed eyebrows each day frankly! So I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on a kit. I spotted the W7 Brow Parlour kit on Amazon a while back and new instantly that I wanted to try it. I've tried so many of the W7 paletted and been impressed that I knew I wouldn't be let down. You can pick up the W7 Brow Parlour here for only £3.46!

The palette is pretty impressive. It comes with a brow wax, highlight powder and two brow powders. I will say that for those with lighter hair this kit may be a touch too dark with the brow powder shades on offer however for me it is perfect. You also get a set of mini tweezers, perfect for travel, and an angled brush and brow comb.

I absolutely love this little kit. The shades are perfect for those, like me, who prefer a natural filled in brow. The wax also makes sure the product you apply stays put. I haven't yet had the opportunity to take this little kit away with me but it will be perfect when I get the opportunity too! Even the little brushes and tweezers come in handy!

Do you have a go to brow kit? What is your favourite product for your brows? Let me know in the comments!

Real Techniques - Miracle Complexion Sponge - Review

Real Techniques - Miracle Complexion Sponge

A few months ago I managed to bag a few real techniques sponges at a bargain price. You know me I'm always on the hunt for a bargain! I've been meaning to try a beauty sponge for the longest time but as always I'm slow to try out hyped products... which is good I suppose. The hyped products that tend to linger on the bloggersphere tend to be the real gems to go out and pick up and this sponge is no exception.

Real Techniques - Miracle Complexion Sponge

For those of you that don't know how to use the miracle complexion sponge you simply soak it under the tap until it has absorbed water and wring out the excess water. The sponge pretty much doubles in size which is pretty impressive! This sponge is often compared with the Beauty Blender which I just can't bring myself to try. That price for something that needs to be chucked out every few months? No thank you!

This sponge makes the application process pretty easy. I use the flat base to apply the foundation to my face whilst using the rounded sides to blend the foundation. The pointed tip is perfect for getting under the eyes and around the nose.

Personally I have a problem sometimes with foundation clingy to the eczema on my face. Usually this is around my nose and under my eyes but during the winter it can be patchy all over my face and make it look really obvious that I'm wearing foundation. The miracle complexion sponge seems to help counteract this. I don't know if it's because of the water added with the foundation but it no longer leaves that clinged on foundation look.

The only thing about the sponge is that, for me, it needs water. I've heard a lot of good things about using this sponge dry but I do prefer to use it wet. For me that is a bit annoying as I'm not near a sink as I get ready for work each day. Consequently, during the weekdays I neglect this sponge and opt for the easy make-up brush. Another downside is washing the sponge. It is a bit of a pain and because of the orange colour it can be difficult to spot where needs cleaning. I also prefer to wash the sponge after each use which in itself can be a bit of a pain! For those wondering I clean my sponge with baby shampoo and it seems to do the job!

Despite the negatives, which lets be honest is down to my own laziness, I really love this sponge. I currently have two so I can use one and have one washed! I can't see myself being without it in the future any time soon!

Have you tried the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge? What were your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick - Candy Mist

Natural Collection Mouisture Shine Lipstick - Candy Mist

Hello everyone! Once again today I am continuing my look at the Natural Collection Moisture Shine lipsticks. Today I am taking a look at Candy Mist. From the bullet this lipstick looks very deep, however looks can be deceiving!

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick - Candy Mist

Candy Mist is actually very much on the frosted pink side, as the name would suggest but the bullet would not. Personally I'm a big fan of this type of lipstick to chuck on when you don't want too much on your lips but just a touch of sparkle. Even with my pale complexion I feel as though this pale pink works very well!

What do you think?

Changes to Bella's Beauty Blog!

Changes to Bella's Beauty Blog!

Hello everyone! For those of you that may have chatted to me on twitter or spotted on my Instagram, I'm now back to work for this academic year! Not only that but I have gone back under a new job role and full time. Last year I worked part time alongside gaining my QTS which allowed for a day that I could use a few hours to write up my two blog posts for the week.

Now, unfortunately, I won't be able to post twice a week... Well that's a lie I could but to be honest I want to use my weekends to relax and focus on spending time with family, friends and the other half! For those of you that blog you will know that writing up a post can take a few hours in itself to edit everything and get it how you want. I'd sooner focus on giving one quality post a week rather than posting twice a week with quick, short and lower quality reviews/posts.

So as of next week I will be posting every Wednesday at 10:00am. This will be for the foreseeable future and may go back to two posts a week soon/when I have spare time or time off. However for now I need a bit of time to get used to my new routine!

Any feedback on my blog or the schedule would be fantastic. Please leave any feedback in the comments or tweet me on twitter. Please let me know what you'd like to see more of!

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick - Cranberry

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick - Cranberry

As promised, here is the start of my look at the Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipsticks! Today we're taking a look at the shade Cranberry. In the bullet the shade is as the name would suggest, a deep cranberry shade. However on the lips it is slightly different.

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick - Cranberry

As you can see on the lips it is a much lighter shade of pink. It is a beautiful shade and applies very smoothly. It is definitely one of my favourite, natural pink shades of the collection!

Have you tried the shade Cranberry? What is your favourite shade? Let me know in the comments below!

*Joan Collins - I Am Woman Perfume - Review*

Joanne Collins - I Am Woman Perfume

Recently I was given the opportunity to take a look at I Am Woman perfume by Joan Collins. I must admit I had only ever heard of Joan Collins make-up range on QVC so I was exited to hear that she also made a perfume that I could try!

I Am Woman totally reflects the Joan Collins persona. It is a very classy, glamorous and mature scent. With age I have become a bigger fan of deeper scents which I Am Woman catered to. If you're a fan of musky, deep scents then this is the one for you. For work or an evening out this scent is absolutely ideal as it is definitely a more mature scent. I always receive compliments when I wear this scent!

The bottle is absolutely gorgeous and reflects the light beautifully. I have a miniature sample size of the perfume which replicates the same bottle design. It looks so elegant and beautiful sat on my vanity!

For those of you looking for the technical explanation of the scent, we all know from past reviews how bad I am at describing scents, here are the top, base and heart notes.

Top notes: lemon, bergamot, orange, mandarin, peach nectar
Heart: rose, orange blossom, jasmine, herbs, moss
Base notes: musk, vanilla, amber, sandalwood, cedar wood, patchouli
