Maybelline Matte Maker - Review

I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect powder. Something that will set my make-up and keep me looking matte all day. For those of you that have a job where you are constantly on your feet then you will be able to relate!

Maybelline Matte Maker

When I spotted Maybelline's Matte Maker I was exited. I love trying new powders out and the idea of a powder specifically designed to help keep me matte seemed fantastic. I got this on sale at the time for £2.99 at Tesco which is a steal... however it is still a steal at £3.99 at boots here. I picked up the shade classic ivory.

But does the Maybelline Matte Maker live up to its name? Well yes! The matte finish on such an affordable product it amazing. For £3.99 it is comparable to my ever so loved Rimmel Stay Matte powder. If anything it is an exact dupe! I will be the first to admit that although this powder makes your make-up appear incredibly matte it is just like any other powder. It isn't bullet proof and once it has worn off it will lose that matte effect. I tend to find that after 4/5 hours I need to re powder. However I find this to be the case with any powder!

So if you already own, love and cherish your Rimmel Stay Matte powder I would wait to try this till you're all out. It is pretty much a dupe! If however you are looking for a new powder why not give the Matte Maker a go? I wasn't dissapointed!

  1. I was really impressed with this. For me it beats the Rimmel Stay Matte because the Rimmel shades run extremely light and even the transparent one has a 'whitening' effect after a while x

    1. I must admit I didn't really think about that but I have to agree with you. Sometimes when I apply the Rimmel Stay Matte it does make me look even paler than I am! I need to be having a good skin day when I wear it!
